Setup Linksys Router
There are some things you need to remember before you start the Linksys router setup process. Let’s take a look at these:

Default web address: https://myrouter.local
IP address: 192.168.1.1
Start with the Router Configuration
- Turn on the modem device, and then connect an Ethernet cable to it. Before you do this, ensure that you turn off the modem device and take out the old one.
- After the connections are made, connect your power adapter to the Linksys router. Then plug it into the power outlet.
- Turn on the router. The power LED will turn solid.
- Open the wireless network manager on your computer and connect to the router’s network. You don’t need to enter a password.
- An ethernet cable can be used to connect the router’s ethernet port to your computer. A wired connection is recommended for increased speed and security.
- Launch a web browser and in the address bar, type either https://myrouter.local or 192.168.1.1. Enter.
- Now you will be redirected directly to the Linksys router login page.
Configuring the Linksys Router Settings
- Click on the “Let’s Get Started” page and select the radio button near the box that says “I have read and accepted the License Terms for this software”.
- Then click the “Next” button.
- You can edit the network SSIDs or passwords in the next window.
- Just type the network name that you want to keep in these fields and then click the “Next” button.
- Review the settings displayed on the final setup screen.
- Click on the Save button.
- Now connect to the router network and click the Next button.
- To register your Linksys router, enter your email address and click the Next button.
- You can skip registration by clicking the Skip button.
- Click on the OK and Done buttons.
- Now, Click on the Done button once more from the last screen.
