Adding the Parent Node
- Turn on your node and watch for a solid purple light to appear.
- Open the Linksys app and select Set up a New Wi-Fi Network once the node’s light is solid purple.
- Select Whole Home Mesh WiFi (Linksys WHW0103 Velop Setup).
- Activate Bluetooth® if asked to do so.
NOTE: If you’d rather set up your node using WiFi rather than Bluetooth, click here to do so. You must connect your mobile device to the node’s bottom-located default WiFi name and password.
- Click It’s Plugged In.
- After plugging in, select Next. then adhere to the remaining wiring instructions.
- Place your node appropriately, then select Next.
- Tap It’s In the Open on the next screen.
- After following the steps on the screen, tap It’s Connected.
- Tap Yes, It’s Blinking Purple if the light has already started to flash purple. If not, press No, It’s Not Blinking Purple to get further information.
NOTE: Before setting up your parent node, switch off any additional nodes that are currently ON and have purple lights.
- The internet connection is verified during setup.
Connecting Node to the Linksys Account
You will be prompted to examine your wiring if the internet connection is not identified, particularly for PPPoE connections or if you have a Static WAN IP address. The screen below will show if a connection is still not made.
- Do you have ISP settings to enter? can be tapped. Then choose your internet provider.
- Create a Linksys cloud account or click Log in here to provide the login information for an existing account.
- Wait for your account to be connected to the node. Personalize your WiFi by entering your desired settings and hitting Next.
- Then hit Next after choosing a location for the node.
NOTE: To change the name of your node, select Name it something else and type in your chosen name.
- Success! You’ve configured the node. Click Next.
Connecting a Child Node
- Tap on Add a Node if you want to add another node. Tap That’s it for now. More nodes can always be added later.
- Overnight, the node will automatically get updates. To improve your WiFi, the node has the ability to notify Linksys of crashes. To proceed, tap Next.
Now your WiFi ought to be functional. Tap Check your dashboard to check how things are going.
